Volunteer Coordinator

Do you enjoy working with people? Would you like to make a difference to a local charity?

We are looking for a volunteer to take on the new role of Volunteer Coordinator to help engage new volunteers to train with us and to support them as they embark on the most rewarding journey of advice training or supporting roles.
Please find out more here and do get in touch if you would like to have an informal chat about the role.

We are looking for new trustees with a wide range of backgrounds, experience and skills, to join our diverse and energetic Board.

We are part of the influential, national Citizens Advice network but are governed and managed locally as an incorporated charity. We provide free, confidential, impartial advice to anyone who needs our help. Our volunteers and staff help people find a way forward with their problems on topics such as welfare benefits, debt, housing, employment rights and discrimination issues.

The Trustee Board‘s main focus is strategy and business planning, governance, compliance and providing support to the Chief Officer.

What are we looking for?

The best Boards are made up of a wide variety of motivated people, all of whom share a common interest in a charity’s services and success. The ideal person will bring innovative ideas, enthusiasm and excellent judgement to help lead the organisation. Understanding of, and empathy with, the types of issues faced by Hart CAB’s clients is also important. We particularly need a person who, in time, is willing and able to step up to a leadership position on the Board of Trustees.

All backgrounds and skills are welcome. You would need to be able to commit to attending trustee board meetings eight times per year. Currently, these are held remotely, but would normally be held either at our Yateley or Fleet office and split equally between evening and day time.

Why volunteer for us?

We are looking to appoint people who have the capacity to make a significant contribution: you may have decided that you would like to volunteer and make a difference to those in need.

Citizens Advice is there to help people whenever they need it, to campaign on issues that need changing and to champion equality. By joining us you will play a vital part in delivering a much-valued service across Hart District.

How will we support you?

We will support you in your new role with us through a comprehensive induction programme working with a trustee mentor. We also provide learning opportunities to our trustees at a local and national level to advance their understanding of our work, our challenges and opportunities.

Our annual report and the impact of our work is available on our website

For an initial informal conversation about the role please contact Geoff Smith, Lead HR Trustee on 07889 742264 or at
