Confidentiality Declaration

This declaration should be signed by anyone who is providing a service to clients in a bureau or having access to clients’ records, for example advisers, tutors, trainers, solicitors or any other person who has reason to be in proximity to CAB clients or client records. 

In addition, trustees of the bureau should sign the declaration for the purposes of visiting bureau premises and handling complaints. 

It is a basic principle of the CA service that Citizens Advice offer confidentiality to enquirers.  Nothing learned by a bureau from enquirers, including the fact of their visit, will be passed on to anyone outside the Service without their express permission.
