Record of Volunteer (Trustee) Consent for Special Category Data
When we record and use your personal information we:
- only access it when we have a good reason
- only share what is necessary and relevant
- don’t sell it to commercial organisations
We need to record some of the information you give us about yourself. We have a legitimate interest to do this. It enables us to support you with your learning, to communicate organisational information and to help you in your role as a Trustee
As part of our work we also need to record and use some sensitive personal information about you. In legal terms this is known as special category data, which includes information about race, ethnic origin, religion, biometrics (where used for ID purposes), health, or sexual orientation.
To do so we need to meet legal conditions for asking for such information, and this is why we are asking you for consent. Any information of this nature will be treated as confidential and held securely on our private drive and only accessed by authorised members of staff. This information will be held until whilst you volunteer with us and for 6 months after you leave and will then be deleted or anonymised for statistical purposes.

You have the right to withdraw consent at any point. You also have other rights over your information, such as the right to see what information is held on you, to have errors corrected, or to restrict its use.
