It’s Volunteers’ Week!

Did you know that 1st – 7th June is Volunteers’ Week?

At Citizens Advice Hart, we’re taking the opportunity to thank our volunteers for their vital support during the cost-of-living crisis.

We have seen a huge number of enquiries from local people struggling to stay on top of household bills. But thanks to the tireless dedication of our volunteers and staff, we have continued to give essential advice and crisis support to help people find a way forward.

As part of Volunteers’ Week, which runs from 1st to 7th June 2023, we want to thank our volunteers for their exceptional contribution to the charity and local community.

In the last year, we have helped 2,187 people with 6,816 of problems, such as debt, housing, benefit, and employment issues.

Sheila, a volunteer Adviser and Advice Session Supervisor with us, has volunteered for 19 years. She says:

I joined Citizens Advice Hart in 2004, shortly after I retired, and have been a Generalist Adviser here ever since. Looking for voluntary work that was stimulating, challenging, and rewarding, I found working for CA ticked all those boxes. It is a privilege to be able to help people for whom, at times, life is a daily struggle.

Sam Mabbott, Chief Officer at Citizens Advice Hart, says:

“We have an incredible team of volunteers who freely give their time and skills to ensure people in Hart can get support in their time of need.

“I’m particularly proud of the immense dedication they’ve shown during the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, when demand for our help is so high.

“Their dedication and commitment knows no bounds. We simply couldn’t do it without them.”

If you’re interested in finding out more about volunteering with us, please visit our volunteering page. No experience is required; full training and support is provided for volunteer roles.

We give people the knowledge and confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problem.
