We’re proud to share that one of our amazing volunteers, Sarah, has been awarded a Mayor’s Community Award at the recent Annual Town Meeting hosted by Yateley Town Council.
Sarah has been a dedicated volunteer with Citizens Advice Hart for many years, and this award is a well deserved recognition of the difference she makes every day to people across our community. Sarah’s journey with us began after attending an AFA course. Inspired by what she learned and impressed by the support we provide at Citizens Advice Hart, she chose to become a volunteer.
She first joined us as an Assessor, supporting people with clear, practical advice during some of the most challenging times in their lives. Since then, she has taken on a range of roles, always going the extra mile to support both our team and the people we help.
One highlight of Sarah’s work was her involvement in our Work Out Your Money project in summer 2025. As part of this, she helped organise sessions in Yateley schools, teaching young people about salaries, payslips, budgeting and saving. Her support made a real impact, helping students feel more confident about managing their money.
More recently, Sarah has become a key part of our Financial Resilience team, often the first step for people who need help with debt. She looks at household budgets, finds ways to manage costs, and provides ongoing support. Her calm, supportive approach helps people feel reassured and in control during difficult times.
Outside of Citizens Advice Hart, Sarah also volunteers with Hart Voluntary Action, where she supports the Community Garden and helps create a welcoming space for everyone involved.
Sarah was nominated for this award in recognition of her kindness, compassion and unwavering commitment to helping others.
We are so lucky to have Sarah as part of our team. Her dedication, positivity and genuine care for people shines through in everything she does, and this award couldn’t have gone to a more deserving person.
